A routine workplace disagreement over a drink ended in tragedy at a U-Haul facility in West Nashville, where 56-year-old employee Fredrick Lytton was fatally shot during his shift.

According to police, the confrontation involved Lytton and a 23-year-old coworker, Devin Rice. Investigators say the two men had been arguing over a drink before Lytton walked away and returned to his work area.

According to the police account reported by the New York Post, Lytton was returning to his workstation when Rice allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired multiple shots.

Lytton was seriously wounded and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
