The investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has taken another turn as authorities continue examining evidence surrounding the night she vanished from her Arizona home.

Nancy was last seen in the early hours of February 1, and the case remains under investigation as a kidnapping-for-ransom case. More than six months later, investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened after she was taken from her home.

One of the most significant developments involves ransom communications sent after Nancy disappeared.

Investigators have said that some ransom notes were determined to be fraudulent extortion attempts, while other communications remain under investigation. The FBI has specifically stated that some ransom demands may potentially be legitimate.

Two early notes have attracted particular attention.

One reportedly demanded millions of dollars in cryptocurrency and claimed Nancy was being held for ransom.

A later communication contained an alarming claim that Nancy had died after the kidnapping.
