A dramatic new wave of attention is surrounding the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, as investigators continue examining digital evidence, witness accounts and the events that unfolded during the July 4 gathering on Horn Island, Mississippi.

A graphic circulating online asks “HE FINALLY ARRESTED?” and highlights one of Nolan’s friends. However, there is no verified evidence that the person shown in the graphic has been arrested in connection with Nolan’s death. Earlier viral claims that Warren Hudson had been arrested were specifically debunked, with reporting stating that no suspect had been arrested in the death investigation.

That distinction is important.

But while the arrest claim remains unsupported, the investigation itself has produced several developments that could become significant.

Nolan’s cellphone has remained one of the most closely watched pieces of evidence.

The phone reportedly ended up back on the mainland after Nolan disappeared, and his family has questioned why he would have remained on Horn Island without the device.

The family has also raised concerns about missing or deleted July 4 material.

A joint forensic examination was previously discussed, but as of the latest reporting, the phone still had not been analyzed because of a dispute over the logistics of the examination. The family says it remains ready to cooperate on a forensic review.
