Family and friends gathered for a vigil Saturday, standing together in prayer and support for Xavier and his loved ones.

Xavier Taylor’s family is doing two things at once right now. Praying for their son to wake up, and defending him from people online claiming he already hasn’t.
Since a baseball struck Xavier in the neck and caused cardiac arrest, his father has refused to focus on blame. He has only asked for prayer. And the response has been enormous. Bridges have been lit blue. Skylines have glowed in his honor. Baseball bats have shown up on porches across the country.
This week, false reports and AI-generated images began circulating, claiming to show Xavier in a hospital bed and suggesting he had died.
His aunt and uncle responded directly.
“Xavier is alive. He is stable. No hospital photos of Xavier have ever been released by the family.”
A family already carrying the weight of a child in a coma should not also have to issue statements correcting fake news about him. But they did, and they did it without losing their footing.
“We continue to stand on God’s Word and promises. The miracle is coming.”
Xavier is still here. His family is still believing.
