Braxton Bradley is 8 years old, loves the Philadelphia Eagles, and had dreams of being just like Saquon Barkley.
Now, his biggest job is getting through cancer treatment.
The Rome, Georgia, third grader was diagnosed August 1 with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that typically doesn’t occur in kids his age.
The cancer is localized to his right femur, but the tumor is large and has already deteriorated much of the bone.
His family has been told even the slightest pressure could cause it to break.
Braxton has already had surgery to place a chemotherapy port and is wearing a brace on his right leg.
Next week, he’ll return to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to continue chemotherapy. If everything goes as planned, treatment will last eight to nine months.

For now, school is on hold.
So are the things he loves most, including football and swimming.
His mom, Amber, says Braxton is incredibly smart.
He’s been in the gifted program since first grade.
He loves video games, he’s a huge Eagles fan, and she describes him as one of the funniest kids around.
This diagnosis is still brand new for their family, and they know there is a long road ahead.
Please keep sweet Braxton and his family close as he begins treatment.
