TEXAS: 34-YEAR-OLD MOTHER WENT TO PICK UP HER TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND NEVER CAME HOME — ESTRANGED HUSBAND ACCUSED OF KILLING HER AND HIDING HER BODY IN A CAR TRUNK
On the morning of August 12, 2026, Eliana Bigoni, 34, went to the Plano, Texas apartment of her estranged husband, Jake O’Brien Bigoni, 37, to pick up their 2- and 5-year-old children. When she failed to show up for an 8:30 a.m. appointment and stopped responding, a friend contacted police.
Around 10:30 a.m., officers arrived and said Jake answered the door with what appeared to be a large bloodstain on his shirt. He initially claimed he had been cleaning and said Eliana had already left.
Police later learned that Jake had called his mother and allegedly told her that he and Eliana had argued and that she was dead. Officers then searched the garage and found Eliana’s body inside the trunk of a white Hyundai, with signs of severe injuries to her head and face.
The couple’s two young children were inside the apartment at the time but were thankfully not physically injured.
Jake Bigoni has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse and is being held without bond. Authorities have not yet announced a final motive, beyond evidence that the couple was separated, going through a divorce, and had argued before Eliana’s death.
