On August 26, 2026, Rajendra Dawadi, principal of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nepal, received an urgent warning that a catastrophic flash flood was rushing toward the Trishuli Valley.
He didn’t wait. Dawadi rang the school bell, ordered classrooms evacuated, called school bus drivers to turn back, and led students uphill toward higher ground. Minutes later, floodwaters swept through the area and destroyed the school buildings.
