This is the case of the mummy unearthed at Saqqara, about 60 kilometers southwest of Cairo, which has been enthusiastically praised by the archaeologists who discovered it as the most beautiful mummy ever found in Egypt.

The mummy is adorned with a golden mask that recreates a human face, and its linen casing—hardened with plaster and brightly painted—is stunningly colorful.

Turquoise blue, yellow, and red are combined in a truly spectacular display.

Among the painted motifs are depictions of the gods Khepri—shown as a winged scarab—along with Horus, Maat, Anubis, and Osiris.
