My Daughter-in-Law Sold My Piano for $100—Then a Famous Musician Came Looking for It
PART 1 — THE PIANO SHE THOUGHT WAS WORTHLESS
My daughter-in-law sold my piano for one hundred dollars while I was visiting my sister.
When I returned home, the corner of the living room was empty.
“Where’s my piano?” I asked.
She didn’t even look away from her phone.
“I sold that old thing. It was taking up space.”
I couldn’t breathe.
My father had played that piano every Sunday until the day he passed away.
“Please tell me you’re joking.”
She rolled her eyes.
“It’s just an old instrument, Helen.”
I sat down and cried.
Two days later, a black SUV stopped outside our house.
A famous concert pianist stepped out with his manager.
“Excuse me,” he said. “I’m looking for a piano that belonged to Samuel Bennett.”
My heart started racing.
“Samuel was my father.”
The musician’s eyes widened.
“Then you have no idea what he left inside that instrument.”
I whispered, “What do you mean?”
He looked toward the empty corner.
“Ma’am, your father’s final compositions were hidden inside the piano.”
My daughter-in-law’s face went white.
“Where is it now?” he asked.
