The CEO Laughed at a Waitress’s Old Shoes—Then His Father Recognized Her Name

PART 1 — THE GIRL WITH THE WORN SHOES

“Look at those shoes. Did you find them in a dumpster?”

The CEO laughed loudly as the young waitress served his table.

Twenty-three-year-old Lily looked down at her worn black shoes.

They were old, but they were all she could afford.

“I’m sorry, sir. I’ll bring your order.”

His friends laughed.

“Maybe the restaurant should pay its staff better,” one joked.

The CEO leaned back.

“Maybe she should find a real career.”

Lily walked away fighting tears.

A few minutes later, an older gentleman entered the restaurant.

It was the CEO’s father, billionaire businessman Edward Collins.

He noticed Lily’s name tag.

“Lily Morgan?”

She nodded.

“Yes, sir.”

His expression changed.

“Was your father James Morgan?”

Lily froze.

“Yes. He passed away when I was twelve.”

Edward gripped the back of a chair.

“My God…”

His son frowned.

“Dad, what’s wrong?”

Edward looked at Lily, his eyes filling with tears.

“Your father was my business partner.”

He turned sharply toward his son.

“And there’s something about this company I’ve never told you.”
