💛 Sebastian George: A Tiny Fighter Who Defied the Odds

From the very beginning, his prognosis was extremely guarded. Some medical expectations suggested he might not survive beyond his first month of life. For his family, the early days were filled with fear, uncertainty, and constant monitoring of his fragile condition.

Sebastian spent a total of 100 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with 80 of those days supported by a ventilator. His early life became a cycle of machines, alarms, procedures, and medical decisions made in real time, as his care team worked tirelessly to stabilize him.

At just 11 days old, he underwent his first major heart surgery. For many newborns in his condition, such procedures carry significant risk, but it was a necessary step in attempting to correct or improve his heart function. Even after surgery, his journey remained filled with setbacks, requiring ongoing interventions and continuous care.
