Clarksville, Tennessee Tornado Incident – December 9, 2023

A powerful tornado struck Clarksville, Tennessee, causing severe damage to a mobile home and surrounding area.

During the storm, a four-month-old infant, Lord, was inside the home in a bassinet when the roof was torn off by the tornado. The child’s father attempted to reach him but was also caught in the force of the storm and thrown from the structure.

After the tornado passed, family members located both father and child approximately ten minutes later in nearby woods.

The infant was found alive at the base of a tree with minor facial injuries. The bassinet was found nearby. The father sustained a broken collarbone. Other family members also survived, though the home and belongings were destroyed.

Authorities and weather reports confirmed the tornado was part of a severe storm system that impacted the region that day.

The family described their survival as unexpected given the severity of the event, and they are now recovering from both injuries and the loss of their home.
