💔 “I JUST HAVE TO GET THROUGH THE HARD PART TO GET TO THE GOOD PART”: 10-YEAR-OLD LUCIA FACES CANCER AGAIN 💔

Ten-year-old Lucia from San Antonio, Texas has already endured more pain and hardship than most people face in a lifetime.

And now, heartbreakingly, she is preparing to fight all over again.

Lucia has relapsed with synovial sarcoma, an aggressive and extremely rare form of cancer with only a few hundred cases reported nationwide. Her family thought they had finally escaped the nightmare after everything this brave little girl survived in 2024.

Seven months of chemotherapy.
More than 40 radiation treatments.
Multiple surgeries.
Physical therapy.
Countless hospital visits and difficult days most children should never have to experience.

Yet through all of it, Lucia kept smiling.

Her family says she became known for her positivity everywhere she went. She made friends with nurses and doctors, leaned deeply on her faith, and repeated one powerful sentence over and over again:

“I just have to get through the hard part to get to the good part.”

And for a while, it truly seemed like she had reached that good part.

In July 2025, Lucia rang the bell and was declared cancer free.

It was the moment her family had prayed for through every treatment, every sleepless night, and every terrifying scan result. Finally, their little girl got to return to being a child again.

The joyful 5th grader at Walzem Elementary went back to choir, volleyball, playing the viola, helping with morning announcements, and serving other students through safety patrol. She started dreaming again about her future—hoping one day to become both a singer and a pediatric oncology nurse so she could help children facing the same battles she knew so well.

Then came the devastating news no family ever wants to hear.

Follow-up scans revealed the cancer had returned.

And this time, it had spread to her lungs.

Now Lucia is preparing to travel to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston after doctors in San Antonio exhausted available treatment options for her aggressive cancer.

That’s the part that breaks hearts the most.

Because this little girl already fought through the unimaginable once. She already endured the pain, fear, and exhaustion that cancer brings into a child’s life.

And now she somehow has to find the strength to do it all over again.

Still, those who know Lucia say she continues holding tightly to her faith, her hope, and the positivity that has inspired so many people around her.

Her story is a reminder of just how resilient children can be—even in moments that feel unbearably unfair.

Tonight, let’s surround Lucia and her family with love, encouragement, and prayers as they prepare for the difficult road ahead.

Leave this brave little girl a message reminding her she is not fighting alone.

And maybe remind her of the words she has already taught so many others:

Sometimes we just have to get through the hard part… to reach the good part again. ❤️
