A golden retriever followed a Google Street View photographer around an entire island… and ended up appearing in more than 1,000 map photos.

The dog, reportedly named Maru, became the unofficial “tour guide” of Jukdo Island after curiously following the camera operator everywhere he went. As the photographer mapped the walking trails, Maru happily trotted behind him, photobombing image after image with the classic golden retriever smile.

Internet users later discovered that if you explore the island in Street View, the same friendly dog keeps appearing around corners, on paths, near the docks, and through the forests – like he personally wanted to make sure nobody got lost
