Kenya – In a remarkable act of courage, 24-year-old Anthony Omari single-handedly defended an orphanage from six armed intruders, using only a hammer to protect 37 sleeping children.

The incident occurred in 2012 at the Faraja Children’s Home. When the armed men broke into the building where the children were sleeping, Omari sprang into action. He confronted the attackers head-on, refusing to let them reach the vulnerable orphans.

During the intense struggle, Omari was struck in the face with a machete, suffering a deep wound that required 11 stitches. Despite the severe injury and heavy bleeding, he remained focused on his mission. He successfully secured the building, ensured all the children were safe, and only collapsed once the immediate danger had passed.

Omari’s extraordinary bravery quickly gained international attention. His actions inspired donations of more than $80,000, which were used to improve security measures and living conditions at the orphanage.
