‘She Still Lives On’: Honor Walk Marks Final Gift of Life for 21-Year-Old Virginia Beach Mother

Virginia Beach, Virginia – In an emotional tribute filled with both heartbreak and hope, hospital staff and loved ones lined the hallways for an Honor Walk to celebrate the life of 21-year-old Cherrish Faith Rodgers as she gave the ultimate gift — the donation of her organs.
Rodgers, a young mother and social media content creator with nearly 35,000 YouTube subscribers, passed away after suffering a severe asthma attack on May 17 that led to cardiac arrest. She was hospitalized with critical brain damage and placed on life support.
While in the hospital, Cherrish turned 21. Just two days later, on May 26, she was declared brain dead, leaving her family devastated.
Despite their profound grief, Cherrish’s family chose to honor her wishes by donating her organs. Her decision is now saving the lives of five people across the United States.
During the Honor Walk at the hospital, staff members stood in silence and clapped as Cherrish was transported from her room. Balloons and heartfelt messages accompanied the procession, creating a powerful and moving farewell.
“She’s not dead — she still lives on,” a family member said. “She’ll live on through the lives she saved and through her children.”
Known for sharing her life, family moments, and entrepreneurial pursuits online, Cherrish built a supportive community through her social media presence. Those who knew her described her as a loving mother whose bright spirit continues to inspire.
Her family hopes her story will encourage others to consider organ donation and raise awareness about the importance of registering as donors.
Through this selfless act, Cherrish Faith Rodgers leaves behind a legacy of love and life that will continue far beyond her 21 years.
