A South Carolina personal trainer vanished after leaving her local gym — and what investigators discovered days later has left an entire community searching for answers.

Police say they have found a body matching the clothing description of missing South Carolina woman Elena Moore.
Before confirmation, authorities are waiting on coroner verification. Authorities say it remains an active investigation and have asked South Carolina Law Enforcement to investigate.
New surveillance photos had widened the search area for the missing 39-year-old personal trainer who was last seen Friday in Lexington, South Carolina.
Missing woman Elena Katherine Moore traveled towards her house, PI says
Private investigator Henry Dukes, who has been working on the case, spoke on “Jesse Weber Live” about the new surveillance footage, calling it very helpful, but not a full picture of her movements the night she disappeared.
“We just don’t know the circumstances,” Dukes said. “If you look at it, that footage actually widened the search area and also confirmed a direction of travel. She is traveling in the direction towards her house.”
Footage also shows Moore walking toward Old Cherokee Road at 9:17 p.m. last Thursday. Detectives say the camera footage was captured on a door camera a week before Moore was reported missing.
Elena Katherine Moore’s husband ‘distraught’ over disappearance
Dukes says Moore’s husband called to report her missing and has been “distraught” about her whereabouts. He also described Moore as a “real likable person, who pretty much got along with everyone” who set off no alarm bells.
A $1,500 reward is being offered for any information about Moore’s whereabouts.
“If she’s out walking around in the city, wherever, somebody’s got to notice her, and what we want them to do is pick up the phone,” Dukes said.
The Lexington Police Department is asking anyone with home or business security footage to contact detectives.
Moore is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
