DECATUR, Georgia — Authorities have identified and arrested 26-year-old Devin Anthony as the primary suspect in the tragic shooting that killed 23-year-old Shakiya Pridgen and her unborn son, Kyren, in DeKalb County.

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning, June 16, 2026, at an apartment complex on Peppertree Circle in unincorporated Decatur. According to investigators, multiple shots were fired into a bedroom window where Pridgen was sleeping with her two young children. She was struck by three bullets, including one to the stomach that fatally wounded her unborn son. Neither Pridgen nor Kyren, who was due to be born soon, survived. The children in the room were unharmed.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office deputies, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Anthony later that day at a residence in Riverdale. He faces charges including malice murder, feticide, and aggravated assault with intent to murder. He is being held without bond in the DeKalb County Jail.
