Father Vows Revenge After Man Who Stabbed 6-Year-Old Son to Death Released Early from Prison

KENTUCKY — A grieving father says he will kill the man who murdered his 6-year-old son if their paths ever cross, after the killer was released from prison following just 10 years behind bars.
Ronald Exantus broke into the Tipton family home in 2015 and stabbed young Logan Tipton to death in a brutal attack. The child was stabbed repeatedly in the head with such force that the butcher knife reportedly bent.
Exantus was initially sentenced to 20 years in 2018 after being found not guilty by reason of insanity. However, due to “good behavior,” he has now been released after serving only half of that term.

Logan’s father expressed profound anger and pain in a raw statement:
“If I ever cross paths with him, I will kill the man. I will kill him right where he stands.”
The early release has devastated the family and reignited outrage over the justice system’s handling of violent crimes, particularly those involving children. Critics argue that “good behavior” credits and insanity defenses can result in inadequate punishment for heinous acts.
The Tipton family continues to mourn Logan, a bright and innocent child whose life was violently cut short. Community support for the family remains strong as they call for changes to prevent similar tragedies.
This case highlights ongoing debates about criminal sentencing, mental health evaluations, and victim rights in the United States. As of now, Exantus is free, while Logan’s family must live with the unbearable loss.
