Kansas — Instead of celebrating with candles and presents, the family of Rylie McCarron gathered around her hospital bed on what was supposed to be her 10th birthday to say their final goodbyes. After a brave fight against stage 4 T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, Rylie passed away peacefully, with her loved ones choosing comfort over continued suffering in her final moments.

Rylie, from a small Kansas town, was airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City after a fall at home led to her diagnosis. Doctors discovered an aggressive cancer with a large mass on her lung that caused complications, including a tear in her trachea. Despite aggressive treatment attempts, her condition was deemed terminal in recent weeks.

The community rallied around Rylie and her family, offering prayers, support, and resources through the Ronald McDonald House and local fundraisers. Her mother and siblings stayed by her side during her hospitalization.
