New York — Two dogs who were allegedly dragged behind a moving car by their owner on a Queens street earlier this year have made full recoveries and are now available for adoption.

Marzipan and Nougat — affectionately known as Marley and Miss Noogie — were rescued in January 2026 after a disturbing video showed them tied to the rear of a vehicle and forced to run as the driver moved through Long Island City. The owner, Dan Bujor, was charged with animal cruelty.

Witnesses intervened, and the dogs were taken into custody by the NYPD before being transferred to the ASPCA for medical care. One suffered a ruptured eardrum and the other sustained paw injuries, but both have since recovered after specialized treatment.

The ASPCA announced that the pair is now healthy and ready for permanent homes. Adoption information is available through the organization’s website. The case drew widespread public outrage when the video first circulated, highlighting concerns about animal welfare in the city.
