Still standing under the bright lights of the operating room, a husband-and-wife team of heart surgeons has just finished a marathon 14-hour surgery — and successfully saved a patient’s life.

The husband shared a simple message: “We are heart surgeons. We just got out of a 14-hour surgery that saved a life. If you have a moment, can you leave us a heart?”

He went on to explain that people often take surgeons for granted. They work long hours, endure grueling operations, and frequently run on little to no sleep. Yet for this couple, it is work they truly love.

“We love being part of families’ lives, giving them healing and second chances. Today my wife and I finished a 14-hour heart surgery. We did what we love — not for recognition, but for that look of relief and joy in a family’s eyes when they hear their loved one is okay.”

He also spoke honestly about the harder moments: “There are rare times we cannot save a life, and those moments make it hard not to carry the weight.”

The surgeon emphasized the importance of the entire team: “Every member of the operating room team plays a vital role, and we’re grateful to work beside people who never stop caring.
