CPC is an ultra-rare and aggressive cancer that originates in the choroid plexus, the tissue inside the brain’s ventricles that produces cerebrospinal fluid. It accounts for only a tiny fraction of pediatric brain tumors and requires intensive treatment, including surgery and chemotherapy. For Bowen’s parents, Kellie and Josh Askew, the diagnosis was devastating and surreal. Overnight, their lives shifted into hospital corridors, medical appointments, and the uncertain wait that comes with childhood cancer.

Through it all, Bowen has remained a bright light.
