Not Just for a Gold Watch”: Wesley Snipes on Returning to Blade
Nearly three decades after defining comic-book action as Blade, Wesley Snipes remains as relentless as ever. Driven by a lifelong dedication to martial arts, the 63-year-old actor sees age as nothing more than a number—and fully intends to live well beyond 100.
Snipes credits his daily training and martial arts philosophy for his longevity. “I plan to be around past 100, and if my martial arts are good, I shouldn’t have any problems,” Snipes said. “This is all a journey.”
When asked whether he could still handle the demanding stunts that made the Daywalker an icon, Snipes didn’t hesitate. “I can still do a lot of the things I could do back then, and even better now.”
Snipes is willing to return as the legendary vampire hunter, but only if he can perform at his highest level. “I wouldn’t want to do it if I had to go in and not do what I’m capable of,” he emphasized. “If I’m going in just so Blade has a gold watch… that’s not going to work.”
For Snipes, lasting physical strength isn’t about reliving past achievements—it’s about holding yourself to the same uncompromising standard every single day.
