Claire’s family recently received an update that brought both hope and disappointment.
According to her latest bone marrow biopsy, doctors found **13 leukemia cells out of more than 3.4 million cells tested**. While this represents significant progress, Claire has **not yet reached measurable residual disease (MRD) negativity**, and her treatment journey continues.
Her medical team is now beginning the next phase of care with **Blinatumomab**, an immunotherapy designed to target leukemia cells while minimizing effects on healthy cells. During this stage, Claire will wear a small medication pump in a backpack for **28 days** as she receives continuous treatment.
Her doctors have reassured the family that these remaining cells do **not** mean the leukemia has become more aggressive. Instead, they reflect that Claire’s body simply needs more time to respond to treatment.
As one of her oncologists reminded them from the beginning, **”This is a marathon, not a sprint.”**
Claire continues to face this journey with courage, supported by her family, medical team, and everyone cheering her on.
