A Little Boy’s Unimaginable Ordeal

A Little Boy’s Unimaginable Ordeal
Two-year-old Sage Wilson was simply doing what toddlers do best—playing outside his Texas home, full of curiosity and energy. In a single devastating moment, everything changed.
A family friend accidentally backed over him, unaware that the little boy was underneath the vehicle. Sage was dragged nearly 35 feet before the car stopped. When his mother rushed outside, she was met with a sight no parent should ever have to face: part of her son’s head had been severely injured, the bone underneath exposed.

Sage was airlifted to the hospital, where doctors worked urgently to remove gravel from the wound and treat a fractured skull. In the days and weeks that followed, he underwent several medical procedures, including a skin graft. The injuries have left permanent scars, and hair is not expected to grow back on part of his head.
What should have been an ordinary afternoon of play became a nightmare that will mark Sage for life. Yet through the surgeries, the pain, and the lasting reminders of that day, this little boy continues to show a strength far beyond his years.
His family now carries both the weight of what happened and the quiet determination to help him heal—physically, emotionally, and in every way a child deserves.
Please keep Sage and his family in your thoughts as they navigate the long road of recovery that still lies ahead.
