A little girl who was once given only a short time to live is now getting ready to celebrate her SECOND birthday.
A little girl who was once given only a short time to live is now getting ready to celebrate her SECOND birthday.
When Edith Rose was born at just 22 weeks, her parents were warned that she might have only 24 to 48 hours.
But Edith kept going.
She spent nearly her entire life in the hospital, facing surgeries, serious inf*ctions, countless procedures and difficult setbacks.
At one point, her eyes were sewn shut as doctors worked to protect her vision. Her family feared they might never see those little eyes open again.
But they did.
After an incredible 639 days in the hospital, Edith finally got to go HOME in June.
And now, on Day 697, her family has received another encouraging update.
After nearly two years of being told that Edith’s brainstem was deteriorating, her mother Pepper says a second opinion brought unexpected news: they were told that it is **NOT deteriorating**.
The family is also learning more about Edith’s Addison’s d*sease and how it may have affected her body’s ability to regulate temperature.
Then Pepper shared a new photo of her daughter and said:
**“Look how clear her eyes are.”**
Those are the same eyes her family once feared might never open again.
Pepper describes Edith as her “biggest teacher” and “the silent preacher.”
From being given just 48 hours to now approaching her second birthday, Edith has already overcome so much.

Pray for continued stability, encouraging answers from her doctors, strength for her little body and many more beautiful milestones ahead.
And please pray for her family as they prepare to celebrate TWO years of this precious little girl’s life.
