Tim Curry: The Actor Who Nearly Died in a Massage Chair and Proved That Talent and Humor Survive Even the Most Devastating Illness

In July 2012, British actor Tim Curry was in the middle of an ordinary massage when something went terribly wrong. His therapist noticed something was off, even though Tim felt completely fine and had no pain. The therapist refused to take no for an answer and called an ambulance. On August 25, 2026, Tim Curry passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles. He was 80 years old. No official cause of death has been released, but for millions he will always be remembered as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Pennywise the Dancing Clown, Wadsworth the butler in Clue, and the countless voices that brought characters to life across decades of stage, screen, and television.
