Court Hearing Update: Bond Review for Streamer Dalton Etherly

A recent bond review hearing involving internet streamer Dalton Etherly, known online as “Chud the Builder,” has generated widespread discussion across social media platforms.

The case centers on an altercation outside a courthouse involving a disabled military veteran. During the hearing, Etherly’s defense team argued that he acted in self-defense. Prosecutors, however, presented surveillance footage from multiple camera angles that they said showed Etherly approaching the individual before the confrontation escalated. Court records also noted verbal exchanges between the two parties prior to the incident.

Prosecutors additionally disputed Etherly’s statement regarding pepper spray, telling the court that investigators did not recover such an item at the scene.

After reviewing the arguments, the judge reduced Etherly’s bail to $1 million. However, the court ruled that funds raised through his GiveSendGo campaign could not be used toward posting bond. The hearing also saw several disruptions from supporters in attendance, with security escorting some individuals out of the courtroom.

The proceedings have since sparked intense online debate, with supporters and critics continuing to argue over the evidence, the surveillance footage, and the self-defense claims presented during the hearing.
