CARSON CITY, Nev. — Authorities have activated an AMBER Alert for a 5-year-old girl who was reportedly abducted in Carson City on Tuesday.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is searching for Amaya Meithof, who was allegedly taken by her 41-year-old father, Christopher Meithof.

According to officials, Amaya was last seen in the area of 2021 Lone Mountain Drive in Carson City. Investigators believe Christopher Meithof may be heading toward Quartz Hill, California, near Lancaster.

Meithof is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He is believed to be driving a red 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Oregon license plate 576 QNU.

Amaya is described as a white female, 5 years old.

The public is urged to be on the lookout for the vehicle and the pair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office immediately or call 911.

This is an active and ongoing missing child investigation. Authorities are asking the public to share the alert widely to help locate Amaya safely.
