THOUSANDS ARE STANDING WITH HIM…

THOUSANDS ARE STANDING WITH HIM…” — The community continues to rally around Joey Rodriguez as his family’s story touches hearts across the country and inspires an outpouring of support.

Messages of encouragement, prayers, and acts of kindness continue to pour in as loved ones face the challenges ahead together.
We’re asking the community to keep 17-year-old Joey Rodriguez and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Joey was seriously injured Wednesday night in the 300 block of West Dickson Avenue near Southwest Military Drive after falling from a pickup truck while celebrating a Spurs win. According to his family, he was rushed to the hospital by friends before being transferred to University Hospital, where he remains with severe brain swelling and is on life support.
Even after doctors delivered the hardest possible news, his family stayed. They kept talking to him. They kept holding his hand. When his knee and thumbs moved, hope rushed back into that room. They wanted so badly to believe he was still finding a way to answer them.
After long and painful conversations with his medical team, the family made the decision no family should ever have to make. They let him go.

For days, strangers across San Antonio and far beyond had been lifting Joey’s name in prayer. His family saw every comment. They read every message. They felt every bit of it during the darkest days of their lives.
Before he passed, his loved ones asked that one message be shared with everyone who followed his story.
