Man Fired After Confronting Father Who Took Daughters Into Women’s Restroom at Alabama Gas Station

ALABAMA — A Mississippi man who went viral after calling police on a father helping his young daughters in a women’s restroom has reportedly lost his job as a real estate agent.
The incident occurred last weekend at a QuikTrip gas station. Oklahoma father Tyler Brodsky was traveling home from Florida with his two young daughters when he took them into an empty women’s restroom, stating he preferred it over the “dirty” men’s room.
Another customer confronted Brodsky at the doorway and called 911, telling dispatch that a man was inside the women’s restroom with small children and suggesting a female employee should assist instead. The children can be heard crying in the video, which has garnered millions of views online.
A QuikTrip manager intervened, apologized to the family, and asked the confronting man to leave. Responding officers told Brodsky he had done nothing wrong.

Overstreet Properties, the man’s employer, confirmed he was an independent contractor and licensed realtor. The company stated he was on a personal trip unrelated to work but severed ties, saying his actions “do not reflect the values” of the company.
The case has sparked intense online debate about parental safety, gender-neutral facilities, and when intervention is appropriate in public spaces. Many have criticized the caller for escalating a situation involving a parent caring for young children, while others defend his concern for restroom safety.
The Brodsky family has received an outpouring of support following the ordeal.
