BURLESON, Texas — In a remarkable display of courage and quick thinking, 7-year-old Patrick from Burleson, Texas, is being hailed as a hero after he pulled his unresponsive 1-year-old brother, Liam, from the family’s backyard swimming pool and sprang into action to get help.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, when Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics responded to a home on Ketron Road. Upon arrival, first responders found young Liam unresponsive after falling into the pool. Thanks to Patrick’s immediate intervention, the toddler received critical help that authorities credit with saving his life.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Patrick discovered his little brother in the water, pulled him out of the pool without hesitation, alerted their mother, and then ran to a neighboring house to summon additional assistance. Paramedics were able to stabilize Liam at the scene before transporting him to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. Officials confirmed that Liam is expected to make a full recovery.

Lt. Keven George of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office praised the young boy’s composure in a statement: “In moments of crisis, even adults can freeze under pressure. Patrick did the opposite.
