A former educator has been found guilty in one of the most disturbing child abuse and murder cases in recent UK history.

Jamie Varley, 37, from Blackpool, was convicted at Preston Crown Court for the murder of a 13-month-old child he had recently adopted with his partner, along with multiple counts of child cruelty and sexual offenses.

His partner, John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, was also found guilty of allowing the child’s death and related abuse charges.
