A FIRE THAT WON’T DIE DOWN IN LOS ANGELES

A major cold-storage warehouse fire in Boyle Heights has stretched on for days, leaving crews facing one of the most difficult firefighting challenges in the city.

The building reportedly held millions of pounds of frozen food, while heavy insulation, damaged roofing, solar panels, and dense storage racks made it too dangerous for firefighters to safely go inside.
Instead, crews have been attacking the flames from outside as thick smoke continues to raise air-quality concerns across nearby communities.

Officials are still investigating what sparked the fire, while residents wait for answers about health risks, cleanup, and how long the smoke may linger.

A massive fire. A complicated battle. And a neighborhood still holding its breath.
