Teen Hero Temar Boggs Bikes After Kidnapper, Helps Rescue 5-Year-Old Jocelyn Rojas in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Lancaster, Pennsylvania (July 2013) — In a remarkable act of bravery, 15-year-old Temar Boggs and his friend Chris Garcia turned an ordinary summer day into a heroic rescue when they helped save 5-year-old Jocelyn Rojas from an alleged kidnapper.
Jocelyn vanished while playing near her grandmother’s home in Lancaster on July 11, 2013. As community members and police launched a frantic search, Boggs and Garcia decided to join the effort on their bicycles.
While riding through the neighborhood, the teens spotted a vehicle matching descriptions from witnesses and noticed a young girl inside who resembled Jocelyn. Undeterred, they pursued the car for approximately 15 minutes, refusing to lose sight of it despite being on bikes.
Realizing he was being followed, the driver eventually stopped and released the girl. A terrified but unharmed Jocelyn ran toward the teens, reportedly saying she wanted her mommy. The boys safely returned her to her family.
Police later arrested 73-year-old Troyer Robert Glass (also referred to in some reports as Harold Leroy Herr) in connection with the abduction. He was charged with kidnapping and related offenses.
Boggs was widely hailed as a hero for his quick thinking and determination. His story inspired many, highlighting how ordinary young people can make an extraordinary difference in a crisis.
