Aarav’s First Steps Toward a Football Dream

While other four-year-olds race freely across playgrounds, Aarav is mastering something far more challenging: taking each careful step for the first time.
Born with a rare congenital limb difference, Aarav grew up without most of his lower left leg. The condition left him with a residual limb that ends well above where a typical ankle would be. Yet that physical difference has never dimmed his determination or his imagination.
His dream is simple and powerful: football. “He just wants to chase a football like other kids,” his family shared.

Physiotherapy plays a central role—helping him learn to stand, transfer weight, and take steps on his residual limb before progressing to a custom prosthesis designed for everyday use and, later, sports.
Football holds particular meaning for many children with limb differences. Adaptive and amputee football programs around the world demonstrate that the sport can be played successfully with crutches or specialised prostheses. Young players develop remarkable agility, coordination, and resilience. Aarav’s family hope he will one day join those ranks—running, kicking, and competing alongside peers.
