Greg Taylor has believed from the beginning that his son Xavier will one day return to the baseball field.

Now, after weeks of uncertainty, the family says there are encouraging signs in the 12-year-old’s recovery journey.

Xavier Taylor, a young baseball player from Maple Shade, New Jersey, has remained in the ICU at Cooper University Hospital since a baseball accident during warmups left him critically injured.

His family says Xavier is currently stable, off blood pressure medication, and receiving nutritional support as doctors continue caring for him.

Although he remains on a ventilator, his loved ones say they are seeing progress and holding onto hope with every step forward.

This week brought an unforgettable moment when Philadelphia Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs visited Xavier in the hospital.

Stubbs spent time at Xavier’s bedside and gave him a signed bat, creating a special memory for a young athlete who loves the game.

Before the accident, Xavier had collected more than 200 player signatures during spring training in Florida and dreamed of being surrounded by baseball.

He plays pitcher and shortstop, and his faith has always been an important part of his life, including writing Philippians 4:13 inside every hat he wears.
