A Michigan family is asking for support after their young grandson, known as baby Tony, was rushed to the hospital with a life-threatening buildup of fluid on his brain.

Late yesterday evening, Tony was taken by ambulance for emergency evaluation. Tests quickly revealed hydrocephalus — excess fluid accumulating in the brain — and doctors determined he needed immediate surgical intervention. He was transferred to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where a surgical team performed an emergency procedure to relieve the pressure.

Tony’s mother and father remain at his bedside in Ann Arbor. The sudden crisis has left the family without reliable transportation and facing unexpected costs for food, lodging, and daily necessities while they stay close to their son.

Relatives describe the situation as extremely stressful and are asking for any help the community can offer.
