PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida — What was supposed to be a joyful family celebration ended in unimaginable heartbreak when six-year-old Emma Riddle suffered fatal injuries in a go-kart crash at an adventure park in Florida.

Emma was visiting Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie on December 6, 2025, as her family gathered to celebrate her sister’s birthday. Instead of ending the evening with laughter and happy memories, the family was confronted with a devastating emergency.

According to reports, Emma was riding in a double-seat go-kart with her mother when a crash occurred on the track. She suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Pierce. Despite efforts to save her, Emma died the following day, December 7.

Her death left her family devastated and raised serious questions about safety procedures at the attraction.

Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Months after Emma’s death, her parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Urban Air and its parent company, Unleashed Brands.

The lawsuit alleges that multiple safety failures contributed to the tragedy. According to the family’s legal complaint, the go-kart attraction had previously been closed but was allegedly reopened by an employee before Emma and her mother were allowed to ride.

The family also alleges that Emma did not meet the manufacturer’s recommended age and height requirements for the go-kart. Other allegations include inadequate safety checks, insufficient instructions and failures involving the proper use of safety equipment.

The lawsuit claims that the go-kart accelerated rapidly before crashing into a barrier, resulting in catastrophic injuries to Emma.

These allegations remain claims made in a civil lawsuit, and the defendants have the opportunity to respond through the legal process.

Investigation Raises Further Safety Concerns

Following the accident, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services investigated the go-kart attraction.

According to reports, state officials identified multiple alleged violations involving amusement-ride safety requirements. The go-kart attraction was subsequently ordered to stop operating.

WPTV later reported that Urban Air in Port St. Lucie agreed to pay $300,000 following the state’s investigation into the crash.

The findings have added another layer to the family’s pursuit of answers and accountability.
