Chaos peaked when a grey Rolls-Royce arrived carrying the bride. Hundreds of people immediately surrounded the car, phones raised, believing the woman inside was Georgina Rodríguez. Members of the wedding party shouted that it was not her, and the bridesmaids (in purple dresses) struggled to clear a path so the real bride could enter the cathedral. Guests and relatives also had difficulty getting through the crowd.

Father Marcos Gonçalves, the priest who officiated the ceremony, confirmed to reporters that the couple had nothing to do with Cristiano Ronaldo and that this was the only wedding taking place at the cathedral that day. He noted he had received no requests related to Ronaldo. Local media and the cathedral itself later shared images and comments about the unexpected scene, with guests joking that they “felt like celebrities.”
