Mason was an active, healthy young boy when his family first noticed that something didn’t seem right.
According to his mother, what began with unusual fatigue was followed by high fevers, vomiting, and painful mouth sores. Although the symptoms were initially believed to be caused by a virus, his family continued searching for answers.
After further testing, doctors diagnosed Mason with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer.
Mason underwent chemotherapy and achieved remission before receiving a bone marrow transplant. Months later, however, his leukemia returned. After one clinical trial stopped working, his family traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he is now receiving treatment through another clinical trial designed to target the genetic changes driving his leukemia.
His family remains hopeful and continues to ask for prayers, encouragement, and support as Mason continues his fight.
