The doctors and nurses who cared for her during one of the most difficult periods of her life became her inspiration. Their care motivated Ellie to follow in their footsteps and pursue a career in medicine.
Now, 11 years after her diagnosis, Ellie has achieved something remarkable.
At 25, she graduated from medical school and is preparing to care for patients herself.
Having once been a patient, Ellie says she understands the fear, uncertainty, and questions people can experience while receiving treatment. She believes her personal journey will help her connect with patients and understand their needs on a deeper level.
