Little Tilly’s Fight

At just three weeks old, baby Matilda — known as Tilly — suddenly stopped breathing. Doctors rushed to save her life right there in a hospital hallway.

Born at only 23 weeks and 4 days, Tilly weighed a fragile 560 grams — less than a loaf of bread. From the very first moment of her life, every breath was a battle.

While being transferred to a specialist hospital, her breathing tube was accidentally disconnected. Her tiny heart and lungs could no longer keep going on their own. Medical staff immediately began life-saving CPR, fighting to bring her back and give her one more chance.

As if that wasn’t enough, Tilly was later diagnosed with necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) while weighing only 492 grams. A condition that threatens the smallest and most vulnerable.

Yet somehow, this little warrior keeps going. Against every impossible odd, she continues to show a strength and determination that leave those around her in awe.
