SAME SUSPECT, TWO DEADLY ROBBERIES: NYPD Manhunt Intensifies for Jesus Acosta

A violent two-day crime spree has left two people dead and another person injured, as police continue searching for 31-year-old parolee Jesus Acosta.

According to investigators, the first deadly robbery occurred Sunday at American Best Wings & Pizza on Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville.

Police say 44-year-old restaurant worker MD Yousuf was shot in the head and killed during the incident.

A 39-year-old co-worker was also wounded in the leg.

Just 48 hours later, another deadly robbery was reported at 149 Grill & Deli on East 149th Street in the Bronx.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows a gunman entering the deli and opening fire on a 33-year-old customer, who later died.

Investigators say the suspect then allegedly threatened employees, took cash from the register, and fled.

A maroon hoodie believed to have been worn by the suspect was reportedly discarded nearby.

Authorities say Acosta was identified after his parole officer recognized him in the surveillance footage.

Police also say he was released from prison in April after serving approximately 10 years for a 2015 shooting on a Harlem subway platform.

According to authorities, Acosta has 13 prior arrests.

He is reportedly identifiable by tattoos including “Bronx” on his hand and “Bobby” on his forearm.

United Bodegas of America is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
