SAME SUSPECT, TWO FATAL ROBBERIES: The 48-Hour Manhunt for Jesus Acosta

Two armed robberies, two separate boroughs, and two lives lost within roughly 48 hours.

Police say 31-year-old parolee Jesus Acosta is wanted in connection with both deadly incidents.

The first occurred at American Best Wings & Pizza on Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville.

According to authorities, 44-year-old MD Yousuf was shot in the head and killed during the robbery.

A 39-year-old co-worker was also wounded in the leg.

Then, just after midnight Tuesday, another robbery unfolded at 149 Grill & Deli on East 149th Street in the Bronx.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows a gunman entering the deli and opening fire on a 33-year-old customer.

The customer later died from his injuries.

Police say the suspect then threatened employees, took cash from the register, and fled.

Investigators reportedly recovered a maroon hoodie believed to have been discarded during the escape.

Authorities say Acosta was identified after his parole officer recognized him in the surveillance footage.

Police also say he was released in April after serving approximately 10 years for a 2015 Harlem subway shooting.

According to investigators, he has 13 prior arrests.

Authorities describe distinctive tattoos including “Bronx” on his hand and “Bobby” on his forearm.

United Bodegas of America is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
