A mother is asking for prayers tonight after receiving devastating news about her 10-year-old daughter.

Rebecca recently learned that the brain tumor affecting her daughter, Athena, has continued to grow despite treatment.

According to Rebecca, a recent MRI showed the tumor had grown by 153%.

“Nothing is working,” she said.

Athena’s journey began after weeks of severe headaches, vomiting, and dizziness. When her symptoms became worse and her eyes began appearing crossed and droopy, Rebecca rushed her to the emergency room.

Doctors discovered a brain tumor that was interfering with the normal flow of fluid around her brain. Athena was later diagnosed with a fast-growing glioma, and her family was told that treatment options were extremely limited.

After another MRI, Rebecca received the news she had been desperately hoping would be different.

The tumor was still growing.

“I keep praying for something to change. I keep hoping that somehow we’ll hear something different.”

Athena is only 10 years old. Rebecca is also raising her son, Aden, while trying to navigate an incredibly difficult situation no parent should have to face.

“I don’t know how much time I have left with her,” Rebecca said.

For this family, every moment together has become even more precious.

Rebecca is praying for a miracle, hoping for more time, and asking people to surround Athena with love, encouragement, and prayers.
