HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: CHILD’S BODY RECOVERED DURING SEARCH FOR NOAH WOODS
The search for missing three-year-old Noah Woods in Brantham, Suffolk, has ended in devastating circumstances.
Police searching for Noah recovered the body of a child from Decoy Pond, a large fishing lake near the area where he disappeared.
At the time of the initial announcement, formal identification had not yet taken place, although Noah’s family had been informed.
Noah disappeared on Tuesday afternoon after becoming separated from a relative near the under-five playground on Merriam Close.
Police said he was believed to have run down an alleyway toward a nearby new-build housing estate and Decoy Pond.
A major search operation was launched almost immediately.
Emergency services worked through the night as officers and volunteers searched the surrounding area.
Specialist dog units, helicopters from the National Police Air Service, and HM Coastguard supported the operation.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service and Suffolk Lowland Search & Rescue were also involved.
Members of the public travelled from across the region to help search gardens, sheds, paths, and surrounding areas.
Residents were urged to check their properties, including outbuildings, behind bins, and around vehicles.
Police also examined CCTV and doorbell-camera footage in an effort to establish Noah’s movements.
The search was made particularly challenging because Noah was autistic, non-verbal, and partially deaf.
Police warned that he might not respond if his name was called.
The family and search teams had continued hoping that Noah would be found safe.
The discovery at Decoy Pond brought the desperate search to a tragic conclusion.
The community response has been immense, with local residents and emergency teams working together throughout the operation.
Police have said enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the discovery are continuing.
The tragedy has left Noah’s family, friends, and the wider Brantham community devastated.
As the investigation continues, the focus now turns to understanding the circumstances surrounding the young boy’s death.
