My Children Left Me at a Nursing Home on Christmas Eve—Then a Black Limousine Arrived

PART 1 — THE CHRISTMAS THEY FORGOT ME

My three children left me at a nursing home on Christmas Eve.

Not one of them even said goodbye.

“Mom, this is the best place for you,” my oldest son explained, dropping my suitcase beside the door.

“But I thought we were having Christmas dinner together.”

My daughter checked her watch.

“Please don’t make this difficult. We have guests arriving.”

Then they drove away.

I sat beside the nursing home’s Christmas tree, holding an old photograph of my husband.

At 79 years old, I had never felt so unwanted.

Around seven that evening, the receptionist hurried toward me.

“Mrs. Parker? There’s someone here to see you.”

I looked up hopefully.

“Are my children back?”

She shook her head.

Outside stood a black limousine.

An elderly man in an expensive coat stepped out, holding a photograph from 30 years ago.

When he saw me, tears filled his eyes.

“Mrs. Parker,” he whispered, “I’ve spent half my life looking for you.”

I stared at the photograph.

It showed a young boy I had once rescued during a terrible winter storm.

Then he said something I never expected.

“Everything I have today started with what you did for me.”
