Life Sentence for Woman Who Deliberately Mowed Down E-Bike Rider in High-Speed Bournemouth Chase

BOURNEMOUTH, UK — A 36-year-old woman has been jailed for life after deliberately chasing down and killing 28-year-old e-bike rider Joey Johnstone in a horrifying targeted attack captured on CCTV.
Zoe Treadwell was convicted of murder after driving her Range Rover at speeds of up to 75mph through residential streets on April 9, 2025, before striking Johnstone. He died at the scene from a traumatic head injury.
Police described the incident as a deliberate act linked to an ongoing feud. Treadwell reportedly mistook Johnstone for someone else connected to the dispute. CCTV footage released by authorities shows the moment the vehicle pursued the victim before the fatal collision.
Treadwell was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 35 years at Winchester Crown Court on January 15, 2026. Her associate, 25-year-old Jonjay Harrison, was also jailed for 32 years in connection with related offenses, including the attempted murder of another victim weeks later.
Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team said:
“His very sad death was a result of a senseless and targeted attack… Our thoughts remain with Joey Johnstone’s partner, children and the rest of his loved ones.”
The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about road violence, personal vendettas spilling into public spaces, and the dangers faced by vulnerable road users such as cyclists and e-bike riders.
Joey Johnstone, a father, was reportedly riding home when the attack occurred. Friends and family have described him as a loving and hardworking man whose life was tragically cut short.
This devastating case serves as a grim reminder of how quickly everyday journeys can turn fatal when personal conflicts escalate into violence.
